2023 Bryan McDonald

Bryan McDonald was the driving force behind developing the central entry system known as ROCOM, which developed into what is now known as ProCom. When the central entry office eventually moved to PRCA

Headquarters in Colorado Springs from their offices in Ft. Collins, Colorado, the name was changed to PROCOM and Bryan continued to work remotely,

coordinating the entry closings until 2004.

He was elected for 13 consecutive two-year terms as Bull Riding Event Representative. He served as one of the founding PRCA representatives for the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. He created the Exceptional Rodeo which featured challenged children and young adults paired with PRCA members – together participating in mock rodeo competition.  The events were produced at the National Finals Rodeo and many other major rodeos.

He served as interim Director of Rodeo Administration. He held the position of Winston Tour Commissioner. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of this Hall of Fame. And at one time held the position of interim CEO of the PRCA between Commissioners Cryer and Hatchell. He was a former member of the PRCA Board of Directors.

Bryan proposed and co-authored the Sponsor Patch Program where contestants could receive revenue by wearing sponsor patches. He created and personally funded the website PROBULLSTATS.COM where information from the judge’s sheets from every rodeo was made available. Bryan created the day money system and reduced turnouts by more than 50%.

He established a network of 250 Field Directors and delegated authority and responsibility to them, utilizing them for input on any rule changes or proposals as well as helping create new proposals and they were vital in providing information and recommendations on the selection of NFR bulls.

Bryan was the first to propose a contestant retirement program. Bryan assisted PRCA President Shawn Davis and Las Vegas Events Herb McDonald and William Armour transition the NFR from Oklahoma City to Las Vegas. Faced with a lack of rodeos accepting permits in the bull riding event, Bryan created permit session which were jackpots where permit holders could count money won toward filling their permits.
